Dale Canning – Instructor/Facilitator

Dale Canning has enjoyed a career in technical and business communications that has spanned over 30 years.  As a senior executive with excellent technical, business and communications skills, his objective is to provide leadership, business and technical training development and delivery, and multimedia development.

Dale started his leadership journey as a member of the US Navy from 1979 to 1988.  During his time in the military, he served in roles from Technician to Leading Petty Officer, and Special Weapons Handler to Master Training Specialist.

Upon exiting the military, he became Director, Federal Systems Division for JAM Incorporated, where he managed large training program roll-outs for the US Government, as well as large corporate clients across many vertical markets.

In 1993, he co-founded Premier Technical Services, a technical communications company that provided training services for a host of organizations in the US and abroad.  Premier achieved ranking in Rochester’s Top 100 Companies for the years of 2000 and 2002.

As President and CEO of the organization from 2003-2009, he managed day-to-day operation of the organization, including oversight of sales and marketing activities, project execution and management, staffing and fiscal management. An active writer and instructor, he also presented training to various audiences on a wide range of business and technical topics.

Dale merged Premier with Raland Technologies in 2009, opening new markets in clinical research and pharmaceutical regulatory compliance.  As President and CEO of the new, larger organization, Dale managed Raland’s strategic and day-to-day activities.  Another merger in 2014 created Raland Compliance Partners, a larger regulatory compliance consulting firm.

After selling his interest in 2015 Dale became a Training and Organizational Development Consultant, founding Watershed Creative LLC.  He is a 1988 Summa Cum Laude graduate of the San Diego campus of National University. He also completed various US Navy leadership and management courses, and is Lean Enterprise trained.
