Judy Ellingwood is a formal Naval Officer with an extensive background in anti-submarine warfare (ASW), project and team management, data analysis, financial/payroll, computers, and training. She served five years’ active duty and over thirty years total in direct support of active duty leadership.
She’s held a variety of civilian leadership positions, including Vice President of AP Advisors. She was also a Principal Scientist on the staff of the Applied Physics Lab at the University of Washington.
Judy was recognized as a leader early in her career, beginning with assignments prior to joining the Navy. She held leadership positions and received leadership/management awards during her officer candidate school training; and while on active duty, she was selected for leadership positions over officers significantly her senior.
In her civilian career supporting the military, Judy quickly rose to project and team management positions and was responsible for large budgets. She was selected to work with flag officers on the way ahead for ASW and to present project ideas to a U.S. Congressman.
As a proponent of communications and training within organizations, she successfully created and implemented many training programs and improved internal communications to ensure team members were kept informed and understood and internalized the goals and thinking behind decisions.
Judy is a volunteer with Disabled American Veterans having served as her local chapter’s commander for two years.
